Re: Well....
Hey guys, I'm not really wild about either of the themes, because they don't exactly seem fitting for the EL serial. I think if we had a big epic opening song thingy, and then a bunch of our voices, people would think we tried to take on too much at once. But I did like the section of music in the CC theme from about 0:30-0:55. But the choir-y voices in the background of a lot of both themes just don't appeal to me.

I agree -- the choir is a bit much -- but we can easily take some of that out, can't we?Rusty Red Raptor wrote:Hey guys, I'm not really wild about either of the themes, because they don't exactly seem fitting for the EL serial. Also, I think we should use a more silent type of music for the podcast. I mean, it's not the music people will be listening for -- it's our voices. The music is more of an 'enhancer', if you get my meaning -- it hightens the listening experience, but only from the background.
I haven't really tried writing a more silent theme, but I can try. Like I said before, the opening theme should be powerful, but in a quiet way.

are we going to have soft music playing in the background throughout the serial?

Re: Well....
The music will be played only at the beginning, the more dramatic or emotional sections of the story, and the end. Preferably, the music during the actual podcast (though the correct term may be 'radio drama') will be quite quiet, maybe only consisting of one or two string instruments to keep it simple and silent.Rusty Red Raptor wrote:are we going to have soft music playing in the background throughout the serial?
By the way, did anyone notice how 'quite' and 'quiet' have the exact same letters, except the 't' and 'e' are switched around? </random thought>

Re: Well....
I made an ad for Bionicle: Untold (I am Publicity Leader, after all ), and I thought maybe this could sort of show how the music would be incorporated into the podcast.

I think we should have special effects in the Serials as well, like rustling leaves if someone is walking through a forest or something.

Music makers cost alot of money. Does anyone want to record some special effects?
we can't take anything from anywhere. All has to be made.

Hey, wake up.
Legolover, we have an ad.
Second, don't forget we are supposed to make music up guys. Tahu Nuva 3.0 has a studio. We can easily make music.

Agreed. Maybe someone could be in charge of finding or making special effects?Dark Hunter wrote:I think we should have special effects in the Serials as well, like rustling leaves if someone is walking through a forest or something.
LMMS and MuseScore are both music-making programs that are free. Once you learn how to use them, they're really good programs. I myself used LMMS, Squidfont (the soundfont), and TimGM6mb (a soundfont that comes pre-installed with MuseScore) to make the music in the background of the ad -- yes, I wrote that.~Aero~ wrote:Music makers cost alot of money. 2. We don't necessarily need a studio; all I needed to write the music you hear in the ad were my laptop and the programs mentioned in a post on the previous page.

The studio-quality option might be good -- if we ever get the chance to use it.Riglax Krom, Riglax/Rediglax, Ign wrote:1.I thought you didn't knew, sorry my MIC broke.

Also, I'm working on a song for the intro, but I'm having trouble making it sound dark enough. Expect me to post the song in the next week or so.

Oh yeah I'm also working on that theme LL. Trying to find the right instruments in the right order to get it right. Don't know if I'll get it as fast as you because band camp is coming up.

Actually, I stopped. The one song that I did complete wasn't good for the podcast (not as dark or mysterious as I wanted it to be), so you go ahead.~Aero~ wrote:Oh yeah I'm also working on that theme LL. Anyone heard Evanescence? I was thinking kind of along some of those lines. I can give you more specific songs, if you want.

Re: Well....
I've heard one of their songs (I forget the name), but I see what you mean. Still, I'd rather have a more orchestral-style song for the intro to the podcast -- something quiet, so that it doesn't overwhelm the dialogue. Rock songs tend to overwhelm, while orchestral music can be quieter.Rusty Red Raptor wrote:Anyone heard Evanescence? I was thinking kind of along some of those lines. Yeah, one of their songs, called 'Good Enough', I think, has this really great opening on the piano, if I'm not mistaken. It was going to be used as a theme for the recent Narnia movies, but it was rejected because it was too dark.

An idea for the main theme of Their Mistake...
Dilemma
Like it? I tried to make it dark and somewhat mysterious...do you guys think I succeeded at that?
Also, Aero, you might as well continue working on yours, in case it's better than mine.

Re: Well....
Heyyyy, supergreat job, LL! Seriously. I definitely like the mood of the song, and the drums setting the beat. I'm not really an expert in the musical field, but I liked it. It may be a bit long to play at the beginning of each chapter, but that's just my opinion. I'm not sure how normal serial podcasts work. XD.

We can just have it fade in and fade out while the narrator -- Jack, I believe -- says, "Welcome to the Bionicle: Untold podcast Their Mistake."Rusty Red Raptor wrote:Heyyyy, supergreat job, LL!
